ReStore

Restore Division |
|
Purpose |
The Habitat ReStore is a
building materials reuse and surplus center. It accepts new and gently
used building-related materials from contractors, supplies, individuals,
remodelers and property managers. |

| Commitment |
Business
hours are Fridays & Saturdays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Donation pickups are
through out the week. Hours are flexible. Manager will develop schedule
based on volunteer interests. |

Responsibilities |
Provide
customer service: greet customers, answer the telephone, assist
customers, and operate cash register. |

Monitor
stock, prepare merchandise to move from storage or staging area to sales
floor. |

Promote
Habitat for Humanity’s mission of elimination of poverty housing
through building affordable homes for qualified families. |

Receive
inventory from donors, provide gift-in-kind donation form and thank them
for supporting ReStore. |

Our
primary mission is to raise money for our home building program through
the sale of donated building supplies.
Our secondary mission is to help preserve our environment by
keeping surplus building materials out of our landfills. |

Purpose |
To direct and control all

To acquire drawings and
material lists to fully understand the scope of work before and during
construction |

To acquire replacement or
missing materials from the warehouse or cause their immediate purchase to
avoid construction delays |

To meet with volunteers on the
days of construction, outline the day's objectives to them, emphasize the
need to work safely, and assign specific jobs to each individual and group |

To provide drawings and tools
to the volunteers who need them |

To reassign volunteers who
lack the skills to complete their initial assignment |

To continuously monitor
construction to guarantee quality and discover / correct errors before
they are "built in" |

To caution and correct

Family
Partnership Task Area
Family Division

Purpose |
Provides
support by being a friend, helper, mentor and confidant to the Partner
Family beginning with contingent approval by the board of directors
until they have lived in the home for one year. Assists the Partner
Family in the transition to homeownership. Habitat for Humanity is
focused on building bridges with Partner Families.

Tasks |
1.
Meet with the Partner Family, at their current residence prior to the
start of construction to identify areas with which you can assist.
Interact with assigned Partner Family during the construction
period and for at least one year thereafter.
Anticipate interacting with the Partner Family once per month. |

2.
Monitor the sweat equity activity for assigned family.
Ensure accurate records of donated and direct sweat equity via
worker log sheets are maintained.
Help the family overcome obstacles to completing the sweat equity
requirements |
|
|
3.
Participate in the ground breaking, if applicable, be available for
assisting in selecting construction options (colors), attend home
dedication, and assist in planning for moving the Partner Family into
their home.
|
|
|
4.
Encourage the family participation in the required home maintenance and
finance seminars.
|
|
|
5.
Monitor family compliance with the letter of intent during the
construction process.
|
|
|
6.
Communicate with the Family Division Chair related to Partner Family
progress and problems.

provider for construction volunteers at the work sites.

Tasks |
Using information from the
previous year, phone people or groups to bring lunch to the worksite on
Saturdays throughout the summer. |

Create schedule of providers
for site and registration tent supervisors. |

Lunch schedule to include
church/organization responsible for lunch, contact name, email (if
applicable) and telephone number. |
|
|
Provide
estimated number of lunches to be delivered to worksite.
Telephone/email reminder one week prior.

Details
for donor organizations:
a. Sack lunch should include napkin, sandwich, fruit, chips, and dessert
or some variation.
b. Vegetarian option.
c. No beverage because Habitat provides.
d. Deliver to registration tent by 11:30 a.m.
